This poem was written while his wife and two of his sons were deported from the Warsaw ghetto’s to the Treblinka gas chambers, while he and his youngest son would suffer the same fate at Auschwitz. Katzenelson was deported from France in convoy No. 72 out of Drancy to Auschwitz on April 29, 1944. Written after three years in the Warsaw ghetto’s, and after the transfer of the author in Vittel, France, this long narrative poem is both the voice of an unspeakable personal suffering and that of a murdered all the people. Seeking a formal constraint fifteen songs fifteen verses each, this text was unearthed after the camp's liberation, a few months after the assassination of Katzenelson Myriam Novitch survivor of Vittel. The poem appeared for the first time in Paris in 1945 after NY in 1948, Hebrew, Polish, German, Italian ...

A week of immersion to Yiddish culture by a whole range of activities for families: singing, klezmer music, dance,
cooking, introduction to the Yiddish langugage, evening shows, concerts,
stories or lullabies... and tourism, tasting of local
products , rest, read ... The animations are conducted in
French.
The activities will take place in the magnificent Ligoure castle, located at 17 km from Limoges.
